Copyright Presentation: What I didn't know I learned.....

Through the Copyright Crash Course, available through EDTC 6340 class, I was able to learn so much more about Copyright. I am in the process of creating a PowerPoint to be used as a guide to teachers at my campus about the ins and outs of copyright.  As a technology teacher it is very important not only to know what "Copyright" is, but why it's important as a classroom teacher/campus staff to model the proper way to use material being found via the internet. For example, I don't think that most teachers realize that by creating their own work they are susceptible to copyright laws that protect their work, but it is also questionable as to who owns the work. Furthermore, my students in the 6th grade level find it very easy to "copy and paste" material found on the web. I constantly remind them that it is wrong and that they must always cite their source. This is one habit they will learn today that may save them along the road in their educational future.
